Established as National Institute of Modern Languages by the Pakistan Army in the late 1960s, NUML has the singular distinction of being the only modern languages university in the country. Department of English Language Teaching (ELT)  came into existence simultaneously with the founding of erstwhile National Institute of Modern Languages in the late 1960s.  Since its inception, the department has functioned as a useful component of NUML to accomplish the assigned mission, efficaciously. The courses offered by the Department include; Foundation, Certificate, Diploma and Advanced Diploma in English language both in the morning and in the afternoon shifts. In afternoon shift International English Language Testing System and English Speaking Proficiency Course are also offered. Now the department offers the following courses.. English Level  A1 English Level A2 English Level B1 English Level B2 English Level C1 Advance Diploma in English  Advance Diploma in ELT
